Bushfire Restoration Video Update 🌿🐨 Thank you for your support 🙏

Woohoo! I am happy to report that the organization that I donated and supported with the “painting for trees” fundraiser and auction, One Tree Planted, is planting trees in Australia by launching three new local nurseries for bushfire recovery!

As of today we have contributed $2,325 and planted 2325 trees with OneTreePlanted. Thank you all who have contributed in so many ways to this and help make it possible.

I know there are also lots of forests that are being restored in California and other parts of the world. They are working on that too. The fires in Australia in 2020 were just something that really touched me deeply, despite having fires nearby here in California too. You can read more about my motivations here…

And you can watch the exciting developments of the tree-planting efforts in the video below. I know it takes a lot longer to grow trees back than it takes for them to burn. This is very sad and seems rather hopeless but if I can do at least this little it is some move towards a better future, which makes me optimistic again. I feel the challenges we face can be a great push towards giving our best at finding solutions and making the world a better place.

How to do you cope and handle the huge global challenges and the rather depressing events of the past, pandemic, environmental disasters, economic challenges? What gives you hope? Or what helps you rise to the circumstances?

Let me know in the comments below.

“It may seem like a distant memory for some, after all the Australian bushfires of 2019/2020 were a pandemic ago. But at a scale of over 45 million acres burned the recovery efforts will take years and many dedicated individuals, organizations, and ecology specialists working together to restore the environment.
That’s why One Tree Planted and the Foundation for National Parks and Wildlife are proud to announce the launch of three bushfire recovery tree nurseries throughout Australia! As part of a Healing Our Land global emergency appeal, the new nurseries will propagate native seedlings and restore wildlife habitats as part of a larger effort to help Australia recover from the bushfires. In order to better acclimate seedlings and replant forests regionally, the first nursery locations will be in New South Wales (NSW), the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), and South Australia (SA). Each nursery will have a capacity of growing between 40,000-160,000 indigenous tree species. This is an exciting and essential step in restoring healthy forests once again.
We’ll never forget the severe impact of the 2019/2020 bushfires in Australia. This will result in 245,000 trees being planted in national parks affected by the bushfires throughout Australia. We are so grateful to the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife, donors, and dedicated volunteers who have rallied together to make this happen! 🌲 About One Tree Planted: 🌳 One Tree Planted is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and we plant trees!
