Portrait of Swami Mahatabkak – painting in process

I started a new portrait painting. After finishing my latest digital painting I was longing for some “real” paint and canvas.

When I was in India this summer, I saw a very captivating photo of my spiritual teacher’s teacher and decided to paint it in large (20×24 inch).

Update 8/18/23 with a slideshow to illustrate the process…

Here is the process so far 11/14/33…

a sketch that I used to transfer to the canvas

blocking out the shadows and background with raw umber

more shading…

Size 20×24 inch, acrylic on stretched canvas

Check the availability of original paintings in my store. Prints are available for most paintings in various sizes. Don’t hesitate to contact me for questions and inquiries.
