Life’s (and death’s) lessons

Shocked about the sudden death of our nephew in Australia. He was only nine years old.
At least he is resting in peace.
I can only imagine how his parents must be feeling, even “from the distance” I am deeply saddened by their loss.

It is hard to believe that there is any sense in him leaving this world so early. Yet, I believe, he has touched many lives, people that came together and prayed together, children in his class that put candles by his photo, strangers donating cellphones, and many more that have been moved by his story. If it was just to make everyone aware of how precious life is and how lucky we are to be alive and to have family and friends around us.

I was glad to hear that his organs have been donated and already 11 kids have benefited from it. To me he is a hero, because who can say that they saved 11 lives even when they are older than 9 years old.

“Death is not extinguishing the light; it is putting out the lamp because the dawn has come.” – Rabindranath Tagore

“Think that death is always on your heels.” Swami Lakshmanjoo (when asked about the right attitude for meditation)
