grays and blacks…

Back in the studio after some well deserved relaxing with family and friends, watching some nice movies, reading some nice books, long walks, puttering in the garden (grateful for a year round season in LA, though fearing for the lettuce drowning in all the rain) and watching the rain fall and spend some time in silence and away from social media.

Was lucky to make it to “the Autry” just in time before it closed to see “California’s Designing, 1896–1986, which was very inspiring.

Most inspiring though were watching a documentary about Gerhard Richter, painting, which had me warm up to his grays and blacks for the first time. I really love color but just got some really awesome pens and brushes and black ink and wonder what i’ll do with them.

First though going to finish this one. Resonating Gerhard Richter words, “The paintings I like the most are the ones I don’t understand”, its slowly growing on me, like the grays and blacks . . .
