Circular Doodle – With Instructions

How has the COVID and #stayhome time treated you? Are you working from home, back to work with social distance and face covered, lost your work/home or thriving with the extra time to yourself? Getting anxious to get out again? Or are you relaxing into the “not knowing” that this time brings and the uncertainty that we all experience? Have you discovered some new strength you thought you didn’t have before or learned some new skills?

Let me know in the comments below…

I have been so busy with work that I have been shifting my studio practice into the early mornings. Too tired in the evenings, it’s too long ago that I have been doodling. However, I enjoyed creating a simple doodle to calm down in the evening, that I thought you would also enjoy making. Below are the instructions.

Materials needed:

  • colored pencil on watercolor paper or any other paper and material that suits you.

Instructions:

  1. draw a line from the center in circular movements towards the edges of the paper,
  2. draw lines from the center crossing the previous line,
  3. fill in the fields creating a shadow effect by coloring one side darker/thicker with color pencil,
  4. have fun, relax!

Optional:

  • choose colors that express your emotions
  • write the emotions or event in the colored fields
  • date
